March 15 is the awakening of the Ouachita National Forest with all of its gorgeous colors. The wildflowers and the vibrant colors of all the seasons make for an enjoyable ride through the Ouachita's atop the mountains on the Talimena Scenic Drive, Oklahoma's National Scenic Byway.  Some things you just don't want to miss!

Talihina is the Village between the mountains, with the Kiamichi Mountains to the South and the Winding Stair Mountains to the North and the Potato Hills to the west. Talihina is also known as the Gateway to the Beautiful Talimena Scenic Drive and the Quachita National Forest. Several lakes, rivers, and streams, camping facilities, equestrian camps, hiking trails, are in close proximity to Talihina offering various outdoor activities.
