Talihina Fall Festival, Arts, Crafts, Food, Live Entertainment & Car Show
Oct 25 , 2014 is the date for this years 26th annual Talihina Fall Foliage Festival. The festival starts at 8:00 am until 7 pm. The Festival events includes an Art Show, Shirley Coleman, local artist will be the chairperson for this part of the festival. Art s& Crafts, include quilts, jewelry, woodworking, getting your families picture taken and put on something cool, and much more. Live entertainment, includes “Trapper” Lara Crank, Talihina School Band, Blue Grass Bank “Just Us”, Southern Sound, Talihina Community Choir, Johns One Man Band, and the Talihina Music Studio Students. The Choctaw Indian Heritage & Culture Area, Will demonstrate how the tools for the stick ball game are made and will include a Stick Ball Game. There will also be other demonstrations of the culture tools that the Choctaw Indian used in earlier years. Legend of the Mountains Story Telling will included stories of unexplainable things that have happened to story teller. Great Food include: Authentic Indian Tacos, Great Steaks, Funnel Cakes and much more . This is the 16th Annual Car Show and it is from 8 am until 3 pm, with a 1967-69 Camaro Parade at 12 noon. These automobiles will be on display for about two hours at the car show. A 5 K Run sponsored by the Choctaw Nation begins at 10 am.
